Available Tatkal Seats For AC

The tatkal seat availability differs from train to train. Seat availability depends on the rush and number of people traveling from a particular station. If the rush is more, then seats allotted under the tatkal reservation will also be more. Usually, the availability of seats to various classes differs by a few seats. Here is the list of availability of seats under tatkal seats for AC in detail. This is only rough information and varies from train to train slightly depending on their demand.

  • The second AC coach has 10 seats.
  • The third AC coach has 16 seats.
  • The AC chair car coach has 16 seats.
Note: There would be no tatkal reservation for the first AC coach.

Available Tatkal Seats For Sleeper

In general, the availability of tatkal seats for sleeper coaches in any train will be more when compared to AC coaches. So, chances of availability under the tatkal scheme for sleeper chances are a bit more than the AC coaches. Here is the rough figure of seat availability under the tatkal scheme.
  • The Sleeper class has 18 seats in total.
  • The second sitting class has 14 seats in total.
In case if any premium tatkal seats are available on your train then, the above 50% of the seats would be reserved under premium tatkal scheme.

Railways provide 30% of the seats under reservation category in which 7% to 10% of the seats are allotted under the tatkal scheme. How to Check Tatkal Seat Availability

If you want to check the exact availability of the seats under the tatkal quota, follow the below-given steps.
  • Go to the "indianrail.gov.in" website.
  • Tap on the "Train between stations" link at the bottom of the page.
  • Enter all your details including your name, starting and destination point, date.
Note: If you want to check the total number of seats under this scheme, mention the date that is two months before from the current reservation date.
  • Next, select the tatkal quota under "Quota" and choose the train of your preferred train.
  • Click on "Get Availability" to check the available seats.
