Under this tatkal scheme, a few seats are reserved which is about 7% to 10% of seats from a total of 30% of reserved seat quota. However, the availability of seats under this scheme varies from train to train depending on the demand and frequency of passengers from that particular station.

The concessions and other quotas are not available as general tickets under the tatkal scheme. Everyone should pay the full fare including senior-citizens to book the ticket. Though tatkal quota tickets are a bit more expensive they are worth it for its enhancement to immediate bookings. The fares, available seats, booking timings are considerably different for AC and Non-AC classes of the tatkal quota.
